New Trails in Tuttletown:

Trail crews have been working hard to build 6 miles of new trails in the Tuttletown Recreation Area for the enjoyment of the hiking and bicycling public.  Join the “trail builders” for special tours at 10:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. to learn first-hand what it takes to construct a trail from planning to finish.  These hikes are approximately 2 miles in length with a few gradual inclines.  Meet at the Tuttletown Entrance Station and follow the caravan down to the trailhead parking area.  Free maps of the trails will be available.  The trails were constructed using funds provided through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

For more information, stop by the New Melones Lake Visitor Center & Museum or call us at 209-536-9543.  The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and closed Mondays and Tuesdays.  Also check our website at http://www.usbr.gov/mp/ccao/newmelones.  If you would like a copy of our Spring Interpretive Calendar and/or to be added to our e-mail list, please e-mail Tracy Neal at tneal@usbr.gov.

For special accommodations, please contact Park Ranger Tracy Neal at least 14 days in advance at 209-536-9094, extension 215 (TTY 800-877-8339) or e-mail tneal@usbr.gov.
